Tennis Clinics for Kids, Teens, and Adults
Spring Session, March-May 2025
- Small class sizes allow for individual attention to all students.
- Low compression tennis balls are used in all kids' clinics for ages 4-12, allowing for quicker success and more fun for all students.
- Multiple age/ability grouping (ages 4-5, 6-8, 9-14, 14+) allows each student to participate with children of his or her ability level.
Teaching Pro: Bob Phillips, USPTA Certified Tennis Professional
Limit: 10 students, per class.
In the event of rain, clinics will be held indoors in Murrysville at the Murrysville Racquet Club.
No Racquet? No Problem.
If you do not have a tennis racquet, I will be happy to provide you with a racquet for the first clinic. At the end of the first clinic, I will recommend a racquet of the correct size and weight.
New and Used Racquets will be available for purchase at the clinic.
Miss a Class? No Problem. If you miss a Tuesday, Little Grippers or Little Kahunas class, you may attend any Wednesday class as your make-up. If you miss a Wednesday, Little Grippers or Little Kahunas class, you may attend any Tuesday class as your make-up.
Junior Intermediate, Junior Challenger, Junior Beginner, and High School clinics are only offered once a week, so there are no make-up classes available. However, high school students may attend an Adult Clinic class as a make-up.
Clinic classes that are canceled because of inclement weather (or other reasons) will be made up. Click on "Make-up Dates" in the Tennis Clinics menu bar, above, for the make-up class schedule.

CLINIC CLASSES
Little Grippers (Ages 4-5)
Based on fun, this class includes instruction, drills, and games that help develop hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and racquet skills in the young player.
Large Nerf tennis balls and large Red and Yellow low-compression tennis balls are used in this clinic.

Little Kahunas (Ages 6-8)
Based on fun, this class includes instruction, drills, and games that help develop agility, hand-eye coordination, and basic tennis skills in the young player. Emphasis on racquet preparation, ball contact point, and serving skills.
Low-pressure Red and Yellow tennis balls are used in this clinic.

For the beginner-level Junior player. Consists of instruction and drills that help to develop sound stroke techniques and proper footwork. Emphasis on serve, return, stroke production, movement, and "live-ball" rallying. All drills simulate match situations.
Low-pressure Orange Dot tennis balls are used in this clinic.

High School/Advanced Juniors (Ages 13+)
Consists of instruction and drills that help to develop the all-around skills of the high school player and players who will begin their freshman year on the high school tennis team. Instruction on stroke technique, specialty shots, match play strategy, and match play tactics. All drills simulate match situations. Serve, return, and approach shots will be emphasized. Includes instruction and match play for both doubles and singles.

ADULT CLINICS
Tennis 101
A fun clinic for beginner-level players and those who are new to the sport of tennis. The clinic features instruction on stroke techniques, footwork, and court positioning. Instruction on tennis rules and scoring is also included. Join us for a fun hour of tennis!
